leaky roof

Did you know your client has a leaky roof?

It’s up to you to know exactly what that “leaky roof” is.

Last week, Andrew spent most of his time up a ladder.

Yep, our roof was leaking.

Specifically, it was leaking in such a way that if we didn’t block the flow of water, our drywall was coming down.

We did the best we could overnight, and at 8 AM the next morning, I called the roofers.

The second they opened, I dialed the number.

I didn’t ask who they were sending, the price, or the timeline. I just pleaded.

Kudos to my genius husband for babysitting the roof all night (and creating a MacGyver-level funnel system out of aluminum foil, a piece of string, and my mop bucket).

The reason I’m telling you about our homeowner woes is because your clients also have a “leaky roof.“

And your job is to understand exactly what that problem is.

I want you to read those last two sentences again:

  1. Your clients have a problem that is frustrating, painful, life-altering, and embarrassing. And they are looking for someone to contact immediately, if only they could find a person they trust.
  2. It’s your job to know exactly what that problem is, how to solve it, and how to clearly communicate it to them.

So, what’s your client’s leaky roof?

And how can you let them know you understand and are the right person for the job?

If this level of business clarity feels out of reach, you know who to call.
